Malizia Mauro

Mauro Malizia operates in Celano, at the heart of the Fucino Plain where volcanic soils and spring water once fed a prehistoric lake. Today, this reclaimed plateau hosts some of Italy's most stringently certified potato cultivation. Malizia grows Patata del Fucino IGP, the region's flagship tuber variety, prized for its firm, compact flesh and unblemished skin—traits impossible to achieve outside these nine municipalities. The elevation and microclimate demand precision; his harvests reflect decades of local expertise applied to one denomination alone.
