MAZZOLENI LUCIO SRL

Founded in 1930 by Ernesto Mazzoleni in Bellano, the house moved to Abbadia Lariana at the foot of Lake Lecco, where three generations have refined the craft of Taleggio DOP. Mazzoleni's rectangular blocks mature for over five weeks on wooden boards, developing the soft, pungent interior that defines this washed-rind classic. The creamery sources milk from local herds, transforming pasture-fed richness into cheese with distinctive calcium and phosphorus profiles—a counterpoint to industrial production across the DOP's 1,480 municipalities.
