Santilli Luciano works the volcanic soils of Celano, in the heart of Abruzzo's Fucino Plain, where one of Europe's most ambitious land reclamation projects transformed a drained lakebed into prime agricultural terrain. Here, the producer cultivates Patata del Fucino IGP, a potato defined by its firm flesh and unblemished skin—tubers that refuse to crack or separate even under demanding storage and transport. The designation spans nine municipalities, but the geology is singular: mineral-rich earth that gives each harvest its distinctive character.
