Vella Raffaele operates in Portopalo di Capo Passero, at Sicily's southeastern tip, where Pomodoro di Pachino IGP tomatoes thrive under Mediterranean sun. The producer harnesses the region's distinctive terroir—limestone soil and sea winds that concentrate natural sugars—to cultivate fruit exceeding 4.5 Brix. Small placenta cavities and dense flesh define each harvest, qualities born from the microclimate that gives Pachino tomatoes their signature profile across the four-municipality protected zone.
