Marco Verdecchia cultivates Patata del Fucino IGP on the unique terroir of L'Aquila's Luco dei Marsi, where the drained bed of the former lake provides exceptionally fertile volcanic soil. His potatoes develop the denomination's hallmark firmness and regular geometry, their skins sealing tightly during growth—a natural barrier that enables long storage and transport without degradation. By working within the strict protocols of the nine-municipality protected zone, Verdecchia sustains both the crop's intrinsic quality and the Fucino plain's agricultural identity.
