Abbazia di Novacella / Kloster Neustift

In Alto Adige, the Abbazia di Novacella governs three distinct terroirs, combining an institutional heritage with contemporary cellar discipline. For whites, they work with Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay; for reds, they rely on Lagrein and Schiava, in vineyards spread across 52 municipalities in northeastern Italy. The three denominations outline an articulated range rather than a mere list. The DOC Lago di Caldaro highlights the light and versatile profile of Schiava, offered in its *grossa*, *gentile*, and *grigia* variants, while the broader DOC Alto Adige encompasses the core of white and red production; the IGT Mitterberg completes the picture with rosé and red expressions.
