ALEMAT

In Ponzano Monferrato, within the Alessandria territory, ALEMAT works within the Barbera del Monferrato Superiore DOCG, a denomination spanning 212 municipalities in eastern Piedmont. The wine is born from Barbera, supported by Freisa, Grignolino, and Dolcetto: a quartet of varieties that define the character of Monferrato, balancing lively acidity with dark fruit. A minimum of 14 months of aging and an alcohol content of no less than 13% establish its profile, while the granitic and clay soils impart its tannic texture. Each cuvée thus becomes an interpretation of the terroir through grape varieties deeply rooted in local wine culture, where Barbera leads and its companion grapes add spice, structure, and verve.
