In Ausonia, within the municipality of Atri, Montepulciano and Trebbiano grapes are rooted in clay and limestone soils, cultivated using both pergola abruzzese and Guyot systems. Six DOC denominations form the company's perimeter: alongside the two regional pillars—Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo—are Cerasuolo, the broader Abruzzo, and the specific areas of Villamagna and Controguerra, drawing a map that ranges from general to precise. The winery focuses on natural fermentation and manual harvesting, allowing the season to define each vintage. This results in mineral-driven white wines and structured reds, the latter aged for over twelve months, in a range that also includes the rosato of Cerasuolo, a bridge between the two chromatic souls of the territory. The Teramo hills, between the Adriatic and Gran Sasso, act as the climatic director for this variety of expressions. Visits and tastings are open: a trip to Atri allows one to observe, glass in hand, how the same clay-limestone soil translates into different registers depending on the denomination.
