Azienda Agricola Vincenzo De Luca

Bivongi DOC

Vincenzo De Luca works within the boundaries of `Bivongi DOC`, a denomination that stretches across ten municipalities in Calabria and entrusts its identity to ancient southern grape varieties. At the heart of production are `Gaglioppo` and `Greco nero`, dark-skinned grapes that find in this challenging terroir the conditions to naturally reach the required minimum alcohol content. From these foundations arises a range that covers all three typologies of the denomination—red, rosé, and white—as if they were so many questions posed to the same land. More than a showcase, De Luca's work resembles an orderly investigation into the indigenous viticultural biodiversity of the south, conducted methodically on varieties that might otherwise risk oblivion. Calabrian winemaking remains a demanding territory, and it is precisely in this ruggedness that `Bivongi` finds its purpose: wines that do not seek immediacy, but fidelity to a landscape and an ampelographic heritage that demands to be understood before being tasted.
