Barchessa Loredan

Barchessa Loredan presides over the Montello plateau, in Volpago in the Treviso area, where mineral soils dictate the character of the wines. The repertoire spans two DOCG denominations: Montello Rosso and Asolo Prosecco, the two faces—red and sparkling—of the same hilly geography in the Northeast. The most ambitious register is that of the reds. Montello Rosso interweaves Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Carmenère into structured blends that require eighteen months of aging before revealing themselves. It's a disciplined approach that prioritizes longevity over immediate accessibility and allows the plateau's minerality to emerge. Alongside, Asolo Prosecco guides the producer's hand towards the freshness and verticality of the Asolo hills. Two denominations, two ways of interpreting the same terroir: one patient and dedicated to aging, the other taut and immediate. A diptych that measures the distance between what must be awaited and what must be seized immediately, never straying from the confines of its hill.
