Bellomo Angela

In Randazzo, in the province of Catania, Angela Bellomo works on the slopes of Etna, within one of Sicily's most distinctive olive-growing areas, spanning 48 municipalities. Her Monte Etna DOP extra virgin olive oil translates a harsh, mineral-rich terroir into a yellow-green expression, marked by notes of grass and aromatic nuances, with the light freshness of a fruit picked both unripe and ripe. It is a profile that bears the fertile harshness of the volcano. It is precisely the volcanic soil that makes this oil difficult to replicate elsewhere. The combination of ash, altitude, and temperature excursions creates conditions that few producers can find in other contexts, and which Etna offers as an ordinary environment.
