BIO CANTINA ORSOGNA
Orsogna · Province of Chieti · Abruzzo
Bio Cantina Orsogna encompasses six Abruzzese denominations, from Villamagna to Controguerra, with a certified organic and biodynamic production line. The heart of their work is Montepulciano, the red grape variety that defines the region: it yields Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and, in its rosé version, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, both intrinsically linked to the soils and altitudes of central Abruzzo, spread across a territory of 189 municipalities. Alongside these, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo and the Abruzzo, Villamagna, and Controguerra denominations broaden the spectrum between white and red wines. The winery's hallmark lies in its method: spontaneous fermentations, minimal intervention, no added sulfites, and unfiltered wines that leave sediment in the bottle as a trace of the terroir. This choice exposes the wine, without correctives, to the character of the vintage and the soil. Six denominations interpreted with the same grammar—that of biodynamic agriculture—compose a portrait of inland Abruzzo where grape variety, vineyard, and producer's hand remain in direct dialogue, vintage after vintage.
