In Serralunga di Crea, amidst the hills of Monferrato Alessandrino, Cantina Colli Di Crea operates within a single guaranteed denomination, Barbera del Monferrato Superiore, which extends across over two hundred Piedmontese municipalities. Here, wine is born with Barbera as the protagonist, often accompanied in the blend by Freisa, Grignolino, and Dolcetto, the native varieties that complement the area's principal grape. The regulations require at least fourteen months of aging, the time during which Barbera softens its nervous acidity and acquires the structure and complexity that distinguish the Superiore version from the basic one. The winery's work remains oriented towards a terroir-driven expression, in which the four grape varieties find their most defined form.
