Cantina Wilma

From Chieti, Cantina Wilma manages a range of six `DOC`s that almost entirely cover the Abruzzese oenological grammar. The two pillars are varietal and vast: `Montepulciano d'Abruzzo` for reds and `Trebbiano d'Abruzzo` for whites, denominations that extend over very wide regional areas. Around them revolve more circumscribed and territorial appellations. The compact `Villamagna DOC` and `Controguerra DOC` delineate restricted and recognizable zones; the `Abruzzo DOC` serves as a regional framework; `Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo` codifies the rosé obtained from the same `Montepulciano` grape, a third color alongside red and white. The result is a portfolio that interprets the region along two axes: the grape variety and the place. The reds respect minimum aging periods of several months, the whites seek structure, the rosés assert their own dignity—each bound by alcohol and varietal protocols that define the contemporary identity of Abruzzo wine.
