Cantine IL MANDORLETO operates in Cirò Marina, on Calabria's Ionian coast, within two contiguous denominations: Cirò and Melissa. Both DOCs revolve around Gaglioppo, the red grape that encapsulates Calabrian viticultural identity, requiring producers to achieve minimum alcohol levels between 12.0% and 12.5%. The winery expresses this grape in dry wines that increase in complexity and ambition, from basic versions to superiore and riserva. Each typology reflects a terroir marked by a maritime climate and soils of a coastal strip exposed to the Ionian Sea. The progression towards superiore and riserva is not a commercial hierarchy, but a way of understanding how much Gaglioppo can offer when given time and concentration. IL MANDORLETO unites two denominations that share a grape variety and landscape, presenting a coherent enological Calabria, where the minerality of the Ionian climate and southern intensity define the profile of each bottle.
