Caprioglio Roberto

In Rosignano Monferrato, in the province of Alessandria, Caprioglio Roberto operates within the Barbera del Monferrato Superiore, a denomination which extends across two hundred and twelve municipalities in Piedmont. His reds are born from Barbera with contributions from Freisa, Grignolino, and Dolcetto, reaching at least thirteen percent alcohol after a minimum maturation of fourteen months. It is during this prolonged aging that the wine finds its measure, moving away from the youthful vivacity of Barbera to gain body. Each vintage demonstrates how time spent in the cellar builds structure and depth, transforming the grape's impetuosity into a more composed and layered profile. The work follows the slow rhythm of the hilly Monferrato, where time becomes part of the recipe. The winery opens its doors to visitors for tastings: stopping here allows one to directly taste the result of those months of rest and to understand, glass in hand, how a single vintage gains density season after season.
