Casalgentile Vini

In Monte Compatri, on the volcanic soils of the Castelli Romani, Casalgentile Vini cultivates vineyards from which it derives two facets of the same white Lazio area. On one hand, Cannellino di Frascati DOCG, a late-harvest interpretation crafted from Malvasia and other regional white grape varieties, where residual sugar becomes a stylistic signature. On the other, Frascati Superiore DOCG, drier and more taut, which expresses the dry register of the same denomination. The two labels share the same five-municipality territory and the same mineral imprint of the volcanic soils, but they diverge in terms of sweetness and structure. It is this dialogue between sweet and dry that defines Casalgentile's project: not two wines juxtaposed for catalog completeness, but two complementary interpretations of a terroir that the Castelli Romani have made recognizable, where the choice of harvest time weighs as much as the variety in shaping the final character.
