Conti Sertoli Salis anchors Valtellina's winemaking heritage to the mid-17th century, when the noble family supplied Nebbiolo wines to the Habsburg court and Grisons nobility. Based in Tirano, the producer crafts Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG and Valtellina Superiore DOCG across vertiginous north-facing terraces climbing 700 metres along the Retic slopes. Both expressions demand rigorous aging—twenty months for Sforzato's concentrated reds and passito styles, twenty-four for the structured Superiore—extracting mineral precision from the ancient Chiavennasca vineyards.
