Plozza operates in Tirano, at the heart of Valtellina's steep-slope vineyards in Sondrio province. The estate specializes in two DOCG expressions rooted in Nebbiolo's regional identity as Chiavennasca. Sforzato di Valtellina, aged 20 months minimum, channels the intensity of sun-dried grapes into wines of 14% alcohol or more—a technique that demands precision and timing. Valtellina Superiore, drawing from a broader 12-municipality zone, reflects subtler terroir nuances through extended 24-month maturation. Both reveal the complexity of Alpine viticulture in Lombardy's mountain valleys.
