Azienda Agricola Merlo
Cavaso del Tomba · Province of Treviso · Veneto
On the Asolane hills, at an altitude of 250 meters, Azienda Agricola Merlo cultivates 23 hectares where significant temperature variations favor local grape varieties such as Glera, Verdiso, and Bianchetta trevigiana. From here come its two DOCG denominations: Asolo Prosecco, available in frizzante and spumante versions, and Montello Rosso, a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This is a family business in the most literal sense: born when Graziano walked the rows alongside his father Pietro, today his wife Sabrina and three children are also involved. The management prioritizes direct cultivation and consciously chooses quality over quantity, a philosophy reflected in both the sparkling wines and the red, uniting the two souls of the house: the white and sparkling character of the hills and the dark, structured nature of the Bordeaux blend.
