Catalanesca del Monte Somma IGTPompeiano IGTVesuvio DOC

In Torre del Greco, Cantine Scala cultivates volcanic soils where three denominations of varying scope converge. The most circumscribed is `Catalanesca del Monte Somma`, a delicate white wine linked to a high-altitude grape variety; `Vesuvio DOC`, spanning sixteen municipalities, yields structured reds and whites; `Pompeiano` extends its reach to the southern Campania plain, offering the broadest geographical canvas of the three. This scale—from the slopes of the volcano to the more open province—allows the winery to navigate diverse conditions with a single common thread: the volcanic origin of the soils. At higher altitudes, the mineral precision of the terroir dominates; lower down, a mature character with fuller fruit prevails. Moving between these altitudes means gathering distinct registers and composing them into a catalog that reflects the geological complexity of the Neapolitan area. Cantine Scala does not pursue homogeneity but uses it in reverse: it transforms the three denominations into a vertical map of Vesuvius, where each altitude band speaks with its own voice.
